For the past few years we have taken tiny steps in an attempt to incorporate e-learning within Waiau Pa School. The purchase of interactive whiteboards, upgrade of school network cables, new classroom computers (old now) and digital camera's were all tiny steps in an attempt to make this happen.
2011 has seen the Board of trustees take the leap into e-learning.
Over $50,000 will be invested in; computer hardware, IT support (Patrick), Professional development (David) , new school website and attendance at National conferences. Therefore the BOT is very keen to see things happen.
The key to any school development is the staff! Teachers make the difference therefore investment in teachers professional development is vital in this change.
It has been amazing to see how all the staff have approached this new learning positively.
